Schools

There are three elementary school options in Arbutus: Trafalgar Elementary (389/978), Carnarvon Elementary School (436/978), and Lord Kitchener Elementary School (420/978).

Prince of Wales Secondary (65/289) is the public secondary school option which services this neighbourhood and is one of our city’s most highly ranked public schools.

There are a wealth of independent schools nearby, which include some of the top ranked schools. York House and Little Flower Academy are Vancouver’s highest ranked schools, both tied for first place (1/289). Both are all girls’ schools. One of the city’s highest ranked all boys’ school, St. George’s (6/289) is also nearby. Crofton House (4/289) and St. John’s (10/289), are also highly ranked independent options which are either in the neighbourhood or a short drive away.

Location and Transportation

Arbutus is centrally located in Vancouver’s west side, so access to the rest of Vancouver is simple and convenient. Downtown Vancouver, the University of British Columbia (UBC), and Richmond are all easily connected by bus. Arbutus is also a quick drive or bus ride from Kitsilano’s beaches, Kerrisdale’s shopping, and UBC’s bountiful endowment lands.
