About Kitsilano

Kitsilano is one of the most infamous neighbourhoods in Canada, and rightfully so. Education

A number of elementary schools are situated in Kitsilano including: General Gordon (404/944), Henry Hudson (382/944), Lord Tennyson (355/944) and Bayview Community School. Kitsilano Secondary School (85/289) is the public high school. Private schools nearby or in the neighbourhood include: West Point Grey Academy (4/289), Our Lady of Perpetual Help School (1/944), Family Montessori School, St. Augustine’s School (47/944), Fraser Academy, St. John’s School (10/289), and Madrona School.

Over half of the properties in Kitsilano are rental properties, with the majority of renters living in low-rise apartment buildings. Kitsilano is a seaside neighbourhood bordered by English bay to the north, Alma Street to the west, Burrard Street to the east and West 16th Ave to the south. It is an ideally located west side neighbourhood for downtown commuters looking to find a unique separation between work and life.

With downtown just across the Burrard Street Bridge, living in Kitsilano is accessible and easygoing. Vanier Park

Located at Kitsilano’s Northeastern point, Vanier Park is a large public green space just a few steps from Kitsilano Beach. Home to interesting works of public art, The Museum of Vancouver, The RH MacMillan Space Centre, as well as the Vancouver Marine Museum, Vanier Park is often populated with residents, walking dogs, picnicking, or setting up blankets to watch the Festival of Lights Firework Festival in July.

Recreation

Kitsilano is one of the best areas for recreation on Vancouver’s Westside. Seaside jogging paths, beach volleyball courts, tennis courts, playgrounds, public pools, including an outdoor pool on the shores of Kitsilano Beach, as well as plentiful yoga and spin studios, smoothie bars, and green spaces for outdoor boot camps and yoga classes, can inspire anyone living in the neighbourhood to get up and move!

Kitsilano Beach

Kitsilano Beach is one of the most popular beaches in Vancouver. In the summertime, its sand and lawns are packed with young people, enjoying the sunshine, the beautiful temperatures and the gorgeous scenery. The beach has it all – lifeguards, beach volleyball courts, a floating dock, and an off-leash dog beach just around the point.
