About Hastings
Hastings is a transitioning neighbourhood known for its many different hats. Its boundaries encapsulate the trendy Railtown district, the Port of Vancouver, the Downtown Eastside and quieter residential enclaves that are home to an eclectic population. Hastings has great neighbours: to the west, the trendy Gastown neighbourhood with its upscale restaurants and trendy cocktail bars and to the southeast, Commercial Drive with its character and community vibe. Hastings is located on the north side of Vancouver, running along the Burrard Inlet. Its border to the West is Main Street, with Gastown’s buzzing town square just a few blocks away. Its eastern border is Nanaimo Street, and to the south, it’s Hastings Street. Closer to downtown, and after Clark Drive, it’s Venables.As for Transportation, public buses run along Hastings and up Commercial Drive connecting residents to downtown Vancouver, and the transportation hub at Commercial and Broadway. The entrance to Highway 1, which connects drivers to Whistler, or any destination east of the city, is just a short drive away.
