Housing
The UBC Endowment Lands are leased to UBC by the province and the properties are managed by UBC Properties Trust in support of the University’s financial future. Areas designated by the University have been developed into townhomes, low-rise and high-rise condominium units for lease. The recently developed South Campus has brought commercial amenities into the neighbourhood so residents can walk to the grocery store and complete basic errands without having to leave campus. There’s also an attractive Faculty Home Ownership Program, which assists UBC Faculty in investing in a home on campus.
Location and Transportation
The University Neighbourhood is at the western edge of Vancouver out on a private peninsula. The fabulous green spaces that surround the campus are strikingly beautiful and the University is constantly being revitalized to update its buildings. UBC itself is a transit hub with a major bus loop so residents are well connected to downtown and to the various skytrain lines in the city. Shuttles also run around this campus, as it is large, and residents are well serviced by it. Downtown Vancouver and the airport are a short twenty minute drive in either direction.
