About Hastings East
Hastings East, now known to some as “East Village” is a family friendly community on the Northeast side of Vancouver. Its Northern border is the Burrard Inlet and this quiet community is residentially focused. New Brighton Park, a beautiful, large green space with community amenities, a public pool and beaches, takes up a majority of the waterfront, providing all with a beautiful view of the North Shore Mountains. It was originally founded at the turn of the century as a vacation destination and the quiet streets still have that laid back feel.

Location and Transportation
Hastings East is located at the northeast corner of Vancouver. The Burrard Inlet is the northern border and Boundary Road cuts it off to the east. East Hastings Street is the southern boundary and Nanaimo street cuts it off to west. The Highway 1, which connects residents to Whistler, North Vancouver, Burnaby, and anything east of the city, passes through the eastern edge of the neighbourhood. Downtown Vancouver is a short fifteen minute drive away and residents can access public transportation options along Hastings, at the eastern edge of the neighbourhood.
The Pacific National Exhibition Fairgrounds are located in the centre of East Hastings. The Fair grounds are home to a yearly fair and a myriad of events: concerts, festivals, and more.
New Brighton Park
New Brighton Park is a beautiful seaside park on the edge of the Burrard Inlet. With 10 hectares of public green space available, this park has it all: seaside walkways: outdoor pools, soccer fields, tennis courts, playgrounds and concessions.
The Hastings Racecourse is a historic horse racing course, beautifully situated with views of the North Shore mountains. It’s been open since 1889 and is reflective of the era.
