This is a story with a very happy ending. It begins with the required sale of our estate property. Initially we received expressed interest from people in the area. It was not the best time of year to sell a house and the potential of a quick sale with no real estate commission was tempting. Negotiations with a prospective buyer for a private sale resulted in a tentative agreement for a purchase price that was arguably on the low side but given the existing conditions, we viewed it as an acceptable deal.

This private agreement fell through. Since Lorne was frequently in touch with the original property owner before her death, he was the person we elected to list the property. We were impressed with his quick response to everything. In our first meeting he had copies of comparable sales in the area so it was relatively easy to determine a listing price. He had contacts in the homebuyer, building renovation and developer communities that facilitated developing interest in prospective buyers.

Within a week of the listing, we had four offers, despite the fact that it was the “slow” time for the real estate market. The eventual selling price was $25,000 above listed price and a full $55,000 above the price originally agreed on in the failed private negotiation.

Would I recommend Lorne Goldman to other home owners? Most definitely. He was easy to work with and achieved an amazing outcome for us.
